At Sirona Technologies, we are developing direct air capture (DAC) technology to remove CO2 from the air and combat climate change. We are a young startup and are now scaling up our prototypes into industrial machines ready for mass production.

We are looking for an exceptional and mission-driven test engineer to ensure our machines work as intended, and push our hardware to its limits. As a member of the core team, you will be expected to rapidly grow your responsibilities in order to help fulfill our ambitious goals.

Responsibilities

As a test engineer, you will:‍

• Design and build test set-ups to validate components, subsystems, and full DAC machines
• Develop and implement test procedures to evaluate mechanical and electrical performance
• Execute tests on machine auxiliaries and complete systems, and ensure they meet performance requirements
• Work closely with design and build engineers to debug systems and provide feedback for improvement
• Continuously improve testing processes and tools as the product matures
• Contribute to a culture of rigorous testing, reliability, and iteration speed

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electro-mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on practical engineering
• Hands-on experience with designing or executing hardware tests (e.g. in university teams, labs, or previous roles)
• Good understanding of mechanical systems, sensors, data acquisition, and control
• Agile and creative mindset that can hack common problems with out of the box ideas
• Strong English verbal and written communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Smart but humble, with a bias for action

• Experience setting up and running endurance or stress tests
