Sirona Technologies has been selected to join Climate Vault Solutions’ CDR portfolio following a multi-stage due diligence process that combines scientific review and independent auditing.
This gives Climate Vault Solutions’ network of more than 50 institutional buyers direct access to independently reviewed, pre-vetted supply of certified carbon removal credits from Sirona Technologies.
Climate Vault Solutions’ selection process is guided by the Climate Vault, Inc. nonprofit's Technology Experts Chamber (Tech Chamber), an independent committee of science, technology and policy experts chaired by former U.S. Energy Secretary Ernest J. Moniz. The Tech Chamber establishes the criteria against which all candidate projects are assessed.
Evaluating DAC projects requires technical expertise and internal resources — including the ability to assess MRV systems, storage pathways, and project execution risk — capabilities most companies lack in-house.
Climate Vault Solutions centralises this process, allowing buyers to access projects that have already undergone independent technical review and auditing, without the need to build that capability themselves.
Sirona’s inclusion followed a structured evaluation process designed to reflect the level of scrutiny expected from institutional buyers.
The process included:
The Tech Chamber is composed of scientists from institutions including MIT, Princeton, and Harvard. The acceptance rate sits at approximately 3%.
Sirona joining the Climate Vault Solutions portfolio is a credibility milestone and provides a route to market with qualified buyers.
As carbon removal markets mature, buyers are increasingly prioritising:
Within this context, Climate Vault Solutions functions as a due diligence and procurement layer, reducing friction on both sides: buyers can move faster with pre-vetted supply, and suppliers gain access to qualified demand.
"I'm thrilled to welcome Sirona to the Climate Vault Solutions CDR Portfolio. Sirona is pioneering a sorbent-agnostic Direct Air Capture approach, and their modular approach represents a critical step toward what DAC has been missing: the ability to prove deployment incrementally and reduce delivery risk over time. Their inaugural project will harness Kenya's renewable energy and geology to drive down the cost of DAC, which the world urgently needs. I'm excited to work alongside this exceptional team as they deliver real, measurable impact in the fight against climate change."
“Climate Vault Solutions applies one of the most rigorous due diligence processes in the carbon removal market. Being selected reflects the strength of our technology, our MRV approach, and our ability to deliver durable removals at scale. Just as importantly, it gives buyers a straightforward path to access that supply with confidence.”
