About Sirona Technologies

At Sirona Technologies, we are developing direct air capture (DAC) technology to remove CO2 from the air and combat climate change. We are a young startup and are now scaling up our prototypes into industrial machines ready for mass production.

We are looking for an exceptional and mission-driven automation engineer to bring our machine to an industrial quality standard. As a member of the core team, you will be expected to rapidly grow your responsibilities in order to help fulfill our ambitious goals.

Responsibilities

As an electronics and automation engineer, you will:‍

• Develop and implement control system architectures, including PLC programming and HMI development.
• Integrate sensors and instrumentation for real-time monitoring of process parameters.
• Analyze data to optimize system performance and provide technical support and training to team members.
• Ensure compliance with industry safety standards and develop safety protocols.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers, systems engineers, and other team members to integrate systems and clarify part specifications.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• 2-3 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Proficient in PLC programming (Ladder, structured text).
• Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., Python, C/C++, Java) for system integration and data analysis.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, sensor technology, and safety standards.
• Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Smart but humble, with a bias for action.

Nice to haves

• Experience with SCADA systems and HMI development.
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, OPC UA, etc.).
• Experience in the field of direct air capture or related environmental technologies
• Hands-on experience to support the rest of the team in the workshop
